Empowering Tanzanian Farmers II

Location: Misungwi, Tanzania |

We are Max, Maud, Maurits, and Tjalline, a team of students from TU Delft preparing to embark on an exciting journey to Misungwi, Tanzania. We are honored to collaborate with YEP-Tanzania for three months to support young farmers in becoming self-sufficient agriculturalists.

Despite Tanzania’s rich soil and favorable conditions, many families still face hunger due to prolonged dry seasons that make traditional farming methods challenging. Our project aims to provide practical knowledge on drought-resistant farming techniques to Tanzanian students and farmers. By introducing sustainable practices, we strive to improve food production and build stronger, self-sufficient communities.

In partnership with YEP-Tanzania, we will focus on improving the irrigation system of a local ‘Farmhouse.’ One of our main goals is to install a water well, which will supply clean water for irrigation and offer the opportunity to sell affordable clean water to surrounding communities.
