We are Philip, Maartje, Onno, and Jesse, and in collaboration with the TU Delft, we are working with the Indonesia Biru Foundation (IBF). We will be working in Indonesia, specifically Lombok, to develop ecotourism in the Cemare Mangrove.
We will develop ecotourism infrastructure, such as eco-friendly walkways, viewing platforms, educational centers, and kayak routes. These will provide visitors with an immersive experience, allowing them to appreciate the beauty of the mangroves while learning about their importance and the current problem. Visitors will even be able to participate in conservation efforts, such as planting saplings. By creating an economic framework, the organization working in the mangrove can fuel their conservation efforts. Lastly, we will organize Mangrove Connect, a three-day cross-industry event where companies from across the country as well as local stakeholders will be invited to collaborate and engage.
