Lots of farmers from Kisumu, Kenya sell their product face to face. They sell them at people’s houses or at the market which can be up to 10 kilometers away. Selling their products involves a lot of travelling. Nowadays people do this traveling by foot or with normal bicycles that are not designed to carry such weight. Because they are limited to this transport method, it creates an obstacle for the user to grow individually in their business.
Our goal is to help the local entrepreneurs. In order to achieve this we are working with CooP-Africa to design and build a cargo bike made for carrying their products. Apart from designing and building the bike, it is also of great importance to come up with a solid business model built around the cargo bike to be able to implement the bike into society and have a positive effect on the local economy and people.
