The project will again take place in Esperanza, Nicaragua, a small remote village 7 hours by boat from the nearest city Waspam. With our project, we want to give the local community the opportunity to build affordable and sustainable schools and homes.
Materials such as concrete and steel have to be transported by boat to the village and are therefore unaffordable for the community of Esperanza. We want to teach the community techniques using natural and local materials only. With the natural and local materials, we will build a workshop next to the 'Bamboo Factory' which was build in 2016, enabling small businesses to build and sell furniture or houses.
For Bambú Natural, the transfer of knowledge to the local community is very important. Ultimately the community has to be able to work with bamboo without any help needed.
