Team Realize participated in an international design competition of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Target? Designing a new type of toilet to solve the sanitation problem of 2.6 billion people.
In August, all submissions went to Seattle for the results of the competition. The winner would continue to develop his concept, with support from the Gates Foundation.
Unfortunately, Realize was not the winner. This is mainly because the technology behind the toilet was not yet fully functional. The jury was very enthusiastic about the user model and this will also be taken up by the winning team!
A team from the California Institute of Technology won the competition and will receive $ 100,000 to further develop their WC.
