We have been in Zanzibar for almost two weeks. We have had a warm welcome by all employees of Chako and the Zenji Hotel, where we often go to work. We have gotten to know the production processes of the different products of Chako and the way that they collect bottles.
We understand the desire of Chako for a new and bigger workplace in a touristic environment. It is quite an effort to reach Chako from the touristic parts of Stone Town. You have to take the dalla dalla to a place where there are very few tourists. We have been busy with submitting applications at funds in the Netherlands and with improving the design of the workplace. Furthermore, we are busy mapping the resorts on Zanzibar that could be interested in a collaboration with Chako and with shooting images for a new promotional video of Chako.
