In the meantime, in the Zomba District, a very suitable but so far unused environment for the Barsha pump, the Agriculture & Irrigation officers of the government have been engaged. They have started searching for a suitable group of smallholder farmers along a flowing river or stream. I have already received numerous videos and photos of streams and rivers. These will be used to do an innitial check if they are suitable for using the Barsha pump. Next week I will travel to Zomba to visit these communities together with government officers and to find the most suitable place. After this the implementation of a Barsha pump can begin!
In the meantime I learn a lot about the irrigating communities, some using the Barsha pump, others using alternative technologies.
