Movienight @Lumen: Galapagos Hope for the future
Students4Sustainability presents: ‘Galapagos: Hope for the Future’
Galapagos islands, the place where Darwin set foot to explain the evolution theory. Tuesday 7 January the movienight was organised at Lumen that showcased the movie Galapagos: Hope for the Future. At the start of this night, a collaboration with the Blue Feet Foundation was shown to show their amazing story and encourage the audience to help them diminish the reduction in population. Next Evert van den Bos - the inspring director of this movie - talked about how he managed to film such shots that make you awestruck and the struggles he had to go through to get the film done.
The documentary made you fly with the boobies and dive with the largest turtles on Earth. Evidently it showed the hardships the islands face due to the impact of climate change but also the life-long commitment of researchers to make the fragile ecosystem future-proof.
After the movie people could win pairs of socks and ask questions to Evert. With 100 attendees, this entire night was a great success!
